Key Responsibilities -

Technical Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a team of ~8 QA engineers, fostering strong engineering practices and ownership.
• Define and implement automation architecture, test strategy, and quality standards across projects.
• Drive automation-first testing practices to ensure scalable and reliable quality validation.

Automation Engineering:

• Design and maintain robust test automation frameworks using Playwright (Java).
• Develop UI automation suites with resilient locator strategies and maintainable test design.
• Build and enhance API automation frameworks using Rest Assured integrated with Spring Boot.
• Implement reusable framework utilities, libraries, and automation components.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and faster feedback cycles.

Performance & System Validation:

• Design and execute performance and load testing using Gatling.
• Analyze performance metrics and collaborate with engineering teams to address system bottlenecks.

Quality Engineering

• Drive best practices across the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) including test planning, test coverage strategy, and release validation.
• Lead defect triage, debugging, and root cause analysis in distributed systems.
• Ensure comprehensive functional, regression, integration, and system testing coverage.

Engineering Excellence:

• Apply strong problem-solving and algorithmic thinking to design efficient automation solutions.
• Utilize appropriate data structures and object-oriented programming principles to build scalable and extensible automation code.
• Promote clean coding practices, modular test design, and framework maintainability.

Collaboration & Innovation:

• Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Encourage adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and data-driven insights to improve testing productivity and innovation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience:

• 7–11 years of experience in Quality Engineering / Test Automation.
• Proven experience leading QA teams and driving automation initiatives.

Technical Expertise -

Strong hands-on experience with:

• Playwright (Java)
• Spring Boot–based automation frameworks
• Rest Assured for API automation
• TestNG test orchestration
• Gatling for performance testing
• Experience integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines.

Programming & Engineering:

• Strong programming skills in Java or other high-level languages.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and automation design principles.
• Strong debugging and defect analysis skills in distributed systems.

Testing Knowledge:

• Deep understanding of STLC, test strategy, test coverage, and release processes.
• Experience building reusable test frameworks from scratch.

Problem Solving & Leadership:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve medium-complexity algorithmic problems using optimized approaches.
• Excellent communication, ownership mindset, and mentoring capability.
